These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the tradechef.io website and analyzer (the "Service"), operated by tradechef.io ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What the Service is

The Service is a browser-based tool that analyzes trading-strategy backtests you provide and presents statistical metrics (such as Monte Carlo simulations, risk-of-ruin estimates, drawdown and risk-adjusted measures). It is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

Not financial advice

tradechef.io does not provide financial, investment, trading, tax, or legal advice, and we are not a licensed broker, dealer, or investment adviser. All outputs are statistical analyses of data you supply. Backtests and simulations are hypothetical and have inherent limitations; past or backtested performance does not guarantee future results. Trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. You are solely responsible for your own trading and investment decisions, and you should consult a qualified, licensed professional before making them.

Your account

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account. Provide accurate information and let us know promptly of any unauthorized use.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt or compromise it, accessing it through unauthorized means, reverse-engineering it to cause harm, reselling it without permission, or using it for any unlawful purpose.

Your data and content

You retain all rights to the backtest files and data you load into the Service. As described in our Privacy Policy, that data is processed in your browser and is not transmitted to us. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any data you load.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, and graphics, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from it without our permission, except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law.

Service provided "as is"

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any analysis or metric will be accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any trading or investment losses, loss of profits, or loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and your continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could cause harm or legal liability.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of tradechef.io is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. [Operator to confirm governing jurisdiction.]
